Was The Wrong File Uploaded to Amazon? Do You Even Edit, Bro?

When reading the synopsis for this story, I thought this was a book that could really check all of my boxes. Rocker? Check. Brother's best friend? Check. Throw in a little kink? Check, check, and CHECK.

Unfortunately, I felt that the story tried to be too many things at once, and ultimately, fell flat.

The story was underdeveloped, the characters immature and one-dimensional, and having one of the authors pretty much starring in the book as himself cheapened the entire thing.

Sadly, the above-mentioned flaws were not the worst in this book. Instead, the true downfall of this novel is the editing or lack thereof. Since there was an editor credited in the acknowledgments, I'm not sure if the authors simply ignored their advice, or if they need to be demanding a refund.

Either way, the amount of errors in this book is STAGGERING. My untrained eye caught PAGES of errors, including, but not limited to:

- Incorrect word usage
- Spelling & punctuation errors
- ENTIRE WORDS missing from sentences
- A character's name changing from one paragraph to the next!
- The commas....MY GOD, THE COMMAS. There may have been more commas in this copy than actual words. (Yes, I exaggerate, but not by much)

Eventually, the mistakes became so numerous that I began to suspect that a rough draft was accidentally uploaded to Amazon. This copy comes across as amateur in the extreme. Authors, if you like, I invite you to get in touch with me so that I can share examples of these errors with you.

This book is the first in a trilogy, and if I were asked for advice, I would recommend that you fire your editor & betas and start fresh for this next installment. They did you no favors on your first go round.

I understand that writing a book is no easy feat, and I don't like to demean anybody's work.but as consumers we need to demand better. Romance readers are maligned enough as it is, and when we give a standing ovation to a sub-standard work because our favorite hardbody is associated with it, we only serve to perpetuate the stereotype of readers in our genre. We're better than that.

Was this book proofread at all?!?

Yikes. First off, I cant even begin to give you an accurate description of all the spelling and grammar errors this book is riddled with. It's crazy. There's almost no abbreviation, which makes the characters sound ridiculous. And the author apparently doesn't know the difference between 'to' and 'too.' If she paid someone to proofread her book, she needs to ask for a refund. There were sentences with words flat out missing throughout the whole book. And the characters? Was I reading a high school romance? Because that's what it felt like. Lourdes acted like a whiny jealous teenager throughout the whole book. Deisel just acted like an ass. And the story itself was lackluster. I was bored reading it. I'll admit it got interesting during the last 5 pages but not enough to make me want to buy anything else from this author.

In the first installment to the S.I.N. Series (Sex In Numbers) the authors leave you with baited breath as they paint a literary tale that is full of raw emotions,lust,hot sex,second chances,forgiveness,and friendship...
Diesel is finally here!!! And let me just say S.R. Watson & Shawn Dawson delivered a story that had my complete and undivided attention. Literally from the time I started the book the Sex In Numbers band mates (Diesel,Xander,Keyser,Gable) had my attention. Add in the chemistry of Lourdes & Diesel and I didn't stand a chance of putting the book down. This book will take you through the twist and turns on the beginning of the journey to stardom for the band. The road to second chances for Lourdes to find herself and become comfortable in her own body again without shields or barriers to protect her. You will get a glimpse of the demons that lay below the surface for the characters in this book and left needing & wanting more. You will also learn a little about Lourdes best friend Brooke and how they meet along with became friends. You will hear the name Sevyn several times through out the book but they leave you in the dark and pretty clueless about the mystery man.(nervous & biting nails over him)
Sex In Numbers douses you with hot,raw emotions that will hold you hostage. While I loved the beginning to this series the cliffhanger(yes I said cliffhanger and one hell of one) will leave you stunned and sitting on the edge of your seat. In closing of this book we will finally figure out just what & who Sevyn is and how he fits into this story along with a glimpse to speculate what the future holds for this band and the new relationship of Lourdes & Diesel.
So for me this was a match made in heaven for the two authors to collaborate together... And a spectacular debut novel for Shawn Dawson. I personally can't wait to see what else these two have up their sleeves for the next two books in the S.I.N. Series!!! Hands down one of my favorite reads of the year and a definite must read... I will be recommending this book to all....

Fantastic and captivating

Absolutely loved this book, you can connect with the characters and you feel like you are there in the midst of the turmoil and just want to reach in and help.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what the next book is going to be about, with an ending like this there had better be another one.

Kudos to Bridget Essex for another fantastic book, her talent for telling stories that seem like real life is incredible. Looking forward to more book from her :)

Delightful and thrilling!

Bridget Essex is a favorite author of mine, and I think this is her best work yet. Date Knight is a delightful whirlwind of humor, passion, suspense, love, and a deep sense of wonder. Holly, a librarian, is navigating her relationship with her new girlfriend, Virago -- a knight from Agrotera, another world apart from Earth. In this sequel to Essex's A KNIGHT TO REMEMBER, Virago and Holly are called back to Agrotera to protect the queen, but not before Virago's fellow knights visit Boston to pick her up and create a load of hilarious, rollicking trouble.

I consider the plot of DATE KNIGHT to be pretty much perfect in form: what seems like a straightforward concept (protect the queen from assassination) is deepened by creative details, vibrant characters, twists, and description that absolutely scintillated. The characters were so lively and well thought out (I adore Queen Calla -- she's so very well-developed, so strong and complex, where many authors might make the mistake of letting a symbolic figure like a queen become flat). The landscape of Agrotera and Arktos City was crystal clear in my mind. The whole novel had a sense of wonder, of huge scale, that drew me through page after page. I wanted to start over and read it again once I finished.

An outstanding magical love story!

I won't give spoilers but I will say this novel is outstanding and is woven with many fantasy elements, magic, adventures and love. The setting is beautiful, written with vivid details that brings you in the story. My favorite knight is Virago, an exotic strong confident woman. She needs to protect her lover, her queen and her country of Arktos. Her Arktos, a captivating magical world dominated by women, and the queen are under threat of being conquered by evil. But she doesn't have to do it alone. Along with her friends, a bunch of truly stunning knights, she goes into battle. There were so many moments that I had my heart in my throat, that I could feel the fear of Holly and of all the others.It's so well written you can easily picture everything in your mind. You'll find yourself immersed in the characters and you will fall in love with Holly. She is a warm, compassionate loving woman. The romance between Virago and Holly tugged at my heartstrings. This is what is called, true love. Date Knight is a fantastic novel that never disappointed. I highly recommend Date Knight and the first one, A Knight to remember.

About the Author
Sue O'Connell has worked as a teacher and teacher trainer in Greece, Portugal and Hong Kong as well as the UK. Average text for low-level students

I teach at a small college in China, so this is a good text for the level of my students. The exercises are good but you are forced to purchase the Class CD for an additional $60, making this a very expensive textbook.

This 237 page tribute to past lives was a joy to review. I fell completely in love with the writier's style as she carefully took me from one interesting event to another. The read focused o a hypnotist and clients he was able to take back into past lives. I learned so much about the different lives of these people through an easy to follow format, that held my interest the whole way through. I found the life of June to be the most intriguing because I felt like I was right there with her, and it amazed me how she could be taken back to a certain year and the information would consistentently be the same. I found the pictures added a nice touch and I also thought it was great how the author presented the information that she was able to document. It helped me to see how reputable and clean they were in their process, and hw they kept it as authentic as possible. I would recommend this exciting and eye opening guide to anyone who has a desire to learn more about past lives. Thanks Dolores, for sharing your fascinating self with the rest of us. About the Author
Dolores Cannon, a regressive hypnotherapist and psychic researcher who records 'Lost' knowledge, was born in 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was educated and lived in St. Louis until her marriage in 1951 to a career Navy man. She spent the next 20 years traveling all over the world as a typical Navy wife, and raising her family. In 1970 her husband was discharged as a disabled veteran, and they retired to the hills of Arkansas. She then started her writing career and began selling her articles to various magazines and newspapers. She has been involved with hypnosis since 1968, and exclusively with past-life therapy and regression work since 1979. She has studied the various hypnosis methods and thus developed her own unique technique which enabled her to gain the most efficient release of information from her clients. Dolores is now teaching her unique technique of hypnosis all over the world. In 1986 she expanded her investigations into the UFO field. She has done on-site studies of suspected UFO landings, and has investigated the Crop Circles in England. The majority of her work in this field has been the accumulation of evidence from suspected abductees through hypnosis. Dolores is an international speaker who has lectured on all the continents of the world. Her thirteen books are translated into twenty languages. She has spoken to radio and television audiences worldwide. And articles about/by Dolores have appeared in several U.S. and international magazines and newspapers. Dolores was the first American and the first foreigner to receive the 'Orpheus Award' in Bulgaria, for the highest advancement in the research of psychic phenomenon. She has received Outstanding Contribution and Lifetime Achievement awards from several hypnosis organizations. Dolores has a very large family who keep her solidly balanced between the 'real' world of her family and the 'unseen' world of her work.

More proof of life-after-death

Having read all of Delores Cannon's books, I highly recommend Five Lives Remembered. Through hypnosis, Cannon is able to take her clients back to their past lives which happened accidentally one day. This is her first book written in 1980 and it tells of the miraculous journey Cannon is taken on by her clients.

Cannon was just a normal wife and mother then she learns hypnosis and starts to use it. To her surprise she stumbles across the past lives of her clients. From that point on Cannon continues her work and for the past 40 years has brought us the most amazing information, everything from past lives to walk-ins to imprinting, a method by which a soul can download lives in order to function here on Earth for the first time. As explained in her many books, the call went out from this planet for higher beings from other worlds to help bring light to our dark world in the end times. If a soul is completely new to Earth, it couldn't function properly without some way of knowing how to deal with the way things are here on earth. This is especially true for beings coming from higher worlds.

It's all so amazing that you'll have to read Cannon's work from the beginning, with Five Lives Remembered to get the whole picture. Well worth the journey.

By far, this is the best book I have ever read. I am not a good reader but once I started I just could not lay the book down till I was completely done. My goal now is to read Delores other books to get a full understanding of life, keep up the good work and keep promoting your knowledge.

It just blew me away

About the Author
Robert A. Meyers obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of California at Los Angeles.
